What is Biblical Counseling?

Biblical counseling is the personal and compassionate ministry of God’s Word within the body of Christ. It reflects God’s design for caring for one another in the local church. A biblical counselor believes that the Bible provides everything we need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3) and that God’s Word offers real help and lasting hope for every struggle we face (2 Timothy 3:16–17).

In counseling, we come alongside others to listen, encourage, and walk with them through life’s challenges. God calls His people to “bear one another’s burdens” (Galatians 6:2), and this ministry is one way we seek to live that out—helping others see how the gospel meets them right where they are. Biblical counselors help counselees explore what’s happening in the heart—thoughts, desires, and motivations—because that’s where true and lasting change begins (Luke 6:45; Proverbs 4:23).

Whether someone is walking through suffering, anxiety, depression, grief, abuse, or relationship struggles, biblical counseling offers the hope and comfort found in Jesus Christ. My desire is to help each person experience His peace, grace, and transforming power in the midst of life’s hardest moments (Psalm 19:7–8; Romans 15:4).
